Happy Friday! It's almost the weekend. For some of you that may mean going out and spending zillions of your hard earned cash on going out. First, there's dinner, then drinks and that thing called socializing which now means getting together and staring at your phones on social media. Unless you're a hermit like myself. The weekends are for some serious Netflix binge-watching. It's not my fault, really. I mean, why would someone just give me access to every season of every awesome show ever for nine bucks a month? This has inspired a new weekly recommendation post. While I do jump back and forth from show to show, my current favorite is Gilmore Girls, thus beating out for the first spot.
The damn thing has 4 and a half stars! The show is about a mother and daughter and their sometimes crazy, sometimes boring life and tendencies. It's set in a small Connecticut town, where absolutely no crime happens, everybody knows every other body, and no one has any filter. When the show was originally aired, I would catch an episode now and again, which never allowed me the time to appreciate it. I'm not sure why, because seemingly nothing happens from show to show. I can attest to the brilliant writing, however. The references are at times over my head sometimes, or I have to stretch my brain way back to what was going on in current events back then. I'm currently somewhere in the middle of Season 5 of 7. (Although, don't hold your breath, because I zip through those suckers at times.) Something happens at the end of Season 4 that kept me quite intrigued. Somehow, Rory has become the annoying one, and Lorelai is the sane mother! We'll see how long it lasts though. So, if you're low on plans or have an extra 4 hours to stare at a TV screen instead of your phone screen, check it out. By the way, anyone know how to get Netflix to stop judging you and asking if you're still watching and just autoplay your show? Much appreciated.
