Turkey Day Noms

Thanksgiving is just ONE more day away. In honor of all things gobble gobble, here are a few of my favorite foods that my family and myself overindulge on.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Here is the recipe.
I also add a pinch of rosemary and top it with shredded cheese for extra cholesterol.

Sweet Potato Casserole

This is a delicious and healthy recipe you can find here.
The fruity, colorful marshmallows are actually a delicious substitute for regular.

Cranberry Sauce

It's best to keep it classic and simple with the sauce.
So much better than the weird, jellied can stuff.
I add cinnamon and nutmeg to taste. Here's a good go-to recipe.

Asparagus with Almonds

Maybe not as traditional, but so easy to make and it immediately makes you feel fancy pants.
This recipe is so short and simple, it'll make you feel like a master chef.

Chocolate Pie

Mouth-watering, scrumptious, I'm dying. Screw the pumpkin pie. I want this home-made slice of heaven.
Please, if you make this recipe here, promise you'll make homemade whipped cream too.

And yes, of course we eat turkey (no tofurkey, turducken, whatever) and squash, but that's too obvious to mention.
Wishing you all the happiness on this Thanksgiving and holiday season!

Hope you all have a relaxing Caturday everyone!

It's called soda! Not pop!

Lately, I have been obsessed with North Woods Law. For those that don't know, it is a show on Animal Planet about the game wardens in Maine. Now, I don't admit this to a lot of people, but I am from a northern Maine milltown, which really should be a whole other country on it's own. Here's me and my cousin back home: While watching the show, I've noticed no matter what area of the state, they all have a distinct accent. I've worked hard to get rid of it, but I'm plagued by it. I came across a really cool video on philebrity.com about a study of how people in different areas of the U.S. pronounce the same word. It shows a map on the left side and a picture of the object on the right side. Whenever, someone is talking, the map is lit up in the region that it is most spoken. It also gives you enough time to say it to yourself and see if it stands true. You can watch the  VIDEO  here.
